Art for the Soul
Seated Figure

I work on several paintings at a time, applying layers of paint, gels, and
various materials that add luminosity and interesting textures to my canvases.
I love vibrant color and simple shapes. My inspiration comes from artists
such as Mark Rothko, Robert Motherwell, and Modigliani.

The subject matter of my paintings consists of abstracts, figurative,
and a category that I choose to call "comfort images."
They can be flowers, landscapes, a cup of coffee or anything else that brings me comfort.
I am fascinated with the square and it is apparent in my current body of work.
I believe "less is more" and my paintings are true to that sentiment.

Painting is my meditation and teacher.
It teaches me discipline, patience and trust.
In my attempt to trust the process,
I strive to let go of expectations and simply show up to the canvas.
I am engulfed in an absolute learning experience.
